Is it your dream to work at home?
Many moms would like to work at home, but don't know what they could do at home to earn a decent living. Maybe you have tried a few ideas only to lose interest, a lot of time, and money.
There are so many scams and get rich quick schemes around, it is hard to
know what is legitimate. I spent a lot of time searching for something
that would work for me.
Here are some things that I did not want to do:
- Borrow money to get a business started.
- Have some one else tell me what to do, how to do it, and when.
- Buy into a Get Rich Quick scheme.
- Lose money on a scam, or pay a monthly fee to work at home.
- I had tried E-Bay and was not having much luck, besides I didn't want to worry about packing and shipping, and running to the Post Office everyday either.
Things that I wanted to do:
- Something I could do at home.
- It would have to be part-time, I'd have to keep my full-time job, at least for now.
- Family would still have to come first, so I would need to fit this in when it was convenient for me.
- I liked being on the internet, and thought maybe I could find something on the internet. Maybe, creating websites.
But how would I learn how to create websites? After a lot of searching and even signing up for one of the most popular web hosts, I still felt lost. At times, I felt like I would never find a home based business.
Then one night, I was on Craigslist and saw an ad for a class to learn How to start an Internet Based Business. It was ten weeks long and held on Saturday mornings from 9am-12noon. Since I work from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, this would be perfect. And the fact that the college was only one mile from my house was even better.
After reviewing the ad a little more, I realized it was for Site Build It and knew it was the right thing to do. This could be my answer to work at home. By this time, I had already seen several websites that were through Site Build It, a few that I had even bookmarked because I found them informative and interesting.
I really enjoyed the class and didn't even mind getting up early on Saturday mornings for it. I learned something new during every class and looked forward to learning more and getting my website up and running.
I have created this website, Double- Duty Moms using Site Build It. I can't really say that I am a success yet, but I have no doubt that I will be. Site Build It has all the tools I need and then some, they also have an action-guide that will help every step of the way.
